Objectives

With TACIS 93-R2.04 a multifunctional simulator has been provided and installed in Russia. The training of the instructors who will work with this simulator was not in the scope of TACIS 93-R2.04 and had to be provided by this project.
The main objectives of this project were:
To promote the concept of Multifunctional Simulators and their role in operator training by means of workshops for each site involving NPP training point managers and instructors, Training Centre managers and instructors, operation department managers, selected operators and safety authority representatives;
To develop for each Beneficiary a training programme for instructors who will use the multifunctional simulators;
To implement the training programme for each Beneficiary to train current instructors who will use the multifunctional simulators;
To establish a detailed two year simulator training schedule for each site.

Results

Application cases of the Multifunctional Simulators in operator training by means of workshops for each site involving NPP training point managers and instructors, Training Centre managers and instructors, operation department managers, selected operators and safety authority representatives have been performed.
Further achievements were:
Development of a training programme for instructors who will use the multifunctional simulators;
Implementation of the training programmes for the Beneficiary to train current instructors who will use the multifunctional simulators;
Creation of a detailed two year simulator training schedule for each site;
The objective of the project was met, though on Kola NPP the personnel to be trained changed often, which jeopardized the sustainability of the project for Kola NPP to a certain degree.
