Objectives

Kola Radwaste Treatment of VVER 213 and VVER 1000

R4.01/93 - Objective

In project 1.6/91 a general review of the situation on NPP with VVER 440-230 type reactors has been performed and solutions (basic design) for improvement have been made.

In the present follow-up project an extension was to be made to VVER 213 type reactors.

R4.03/94 (Improvement of incineration facility at Kola) - Objective

An incineration facility for Low-Level liquid and solid waste is operating at Kola NPP.
A modernization of the loading subsystem and the control of the final product (conditioned ashes) were needed. Some additional components had to be supplied and installed.

Results

Due to problems caused by the equipment subcontracting procedures the project was not finished.

The contract expired on 15.1.1998 without any equipment delivery or provision for delivery.
