Objectives

The present project was to produce the specific design of the physical protection system (PPS) on Kola, Novovoronezh, Kalinin, Kursk and Beloyarsk NPPs based on the general concept already performed.

The project was subdivided into the following tasks:

  1. Management of the project; QA plan.
  2. The set-up of the data packages (for NPPs concerned). Several missions are performed along the project.
  3. Study of PPS related to a specific NPP. The study includes the validation of functional analyses issued from the previous definition studies from SNPP and BNPP, the basic design and the technical specifications.
  4. The contractor will supply detailed cost estimates for each PPS concerning on-site systems implementation.

Those figures must be detailed according to three scenarios of implementation:

  • Priority urgency no.1 relevant to minimum required security level;
  • Medium level implementation of systems;
  • Optimum implementation of systems.

Results

The project’s contract expired on 1.12.1998 without achieving the objective.
