Objectives
Mainly for application in the primary loop, VNIIAES has developed a diagnostic centre for:
- leak detection;
- loose part detection and monitoring;
- vibration monitoring;
- fatigue monitoring and evaluation of fatigue degree (partly financed by TACIS 91 project 3.4).
The development has been carried out partly with Western industrial companies like Siemens (Germany), Bruel & Kjaer (Denmark) and Kasmerg (Hungary).
Since a wider use of different kind of diagnostic systems was envisaged the Russian counterpart was planning a modernization and upgrade of the diagnosis centre located in Moscow at VNIIAES.
The purpose of the diagnosis centre is:
- to guarantee adequate service for these systems (maintenance, calibration);
- to accumulate the operation experience on NPP and improve the application method;
- to transfer the experience and improvement to those NPPs where the diagnostic systems are in operation.
Results
The methodological part of the project was executed in line with the TOR. A modernisation concept has been elaborated.
As a final deliverable a list of equipment to be purchased and installed in the VNIIAES Diagnostic Centre has been established.
After a 4-year interruption the project’s supply part has been resumed.
A specification of necessary equipment in line with the latest development in diagnostics has been established in Summer 2001. The equipment (see project R2.02/93-supply part) has been delivered in 2004 too.
