Objectives

Overall Objectives

The overall objective (Impact) to which the action contributes is to increase the capacity and capabilities of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulator Authority, NNRA, and bring its safety culture and standards for radiation and nuclear safety more in accord with those in the EU.

Specific Objectives (Outcomes)

The specific objectives are to further develop and improve NRA's:

  • regulatory framework for nuclear safety
  • integrated management system (IMS) for nuclear safety
  • human resource development and training plan and
  • regulatory framework for research reactors

and to support NNRA in preparing for a follow-up to the IAEA IRRS mission held in 2017
